The Rule of Law

The Oxford English Dictionary defines the rule of law as " The rule of law is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as "the authority and influence of law in society, especially when viewed as a constraint on individual and institutional behavior; (hence) the principle whereby all members of a society (including those in government) are considered equally subject to publicly disclosed legal codes and processes." The term "rule of law" is closely related to the term " constitutionality", as well as the term "State of law", by referring to a political situation rather than to any particular legal rule.

"However, the reality in northeast Syria is contrary to the definition of the rule of law, and a number of articles emphasizing the rule of law were included in the Charter of the Social Contract for the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Jazeera-Syria Province, which was approved at the 1 session in 6/1/2014."

(Amin)’s case and the circumstances surrounding his arrest until the day he diseased, many questions come to mind for everyone living in the regions of the Autonomous Administration, if the articles of the social contract related to the rule of law have been applied or not.

Therefore, TEVIN Think-tank invites you to a dialog session to seek the truth and find answers:

·  Is the law the main limitation of individual and institutional behavior in northeastern Syria?

·  What are the main challenges to law enforcement?

·  How may the law be made the base reference for ruling?

·  do political parties influence the rule of law?

·  5.What is the role of civil society in promoting the rule of law?

As with all TEVIN dialogs the answers given by panelists lead to the development of ideas and solutions to the issue

The event and who can join

There will be brief, online discussions about the rule of law dedicated to local organizations in northeast Syria, the meeting shall be in the Arabic language, taking into account all components of the region.
