In Syria in general and in the northern and eastern parts of it, electricity has been severely affected since 2011. For many, electricity has become a dream. The damage was caused by terrorist operations and attacks by Turkey, where power and distribution centers and transport towers were destroyed.
Methods of developing the industrial sector
During the Syrian Ba'ath era, the industrial sector was deliberately neglected in northern and eastern Syria. Even though Syria's three main oil-producing governorates: al-Hasaka, Qamishli, and Deir ez-Zor are also important cotton, wheat, and barley producing regions. Nevertheless, the three governorates in northern and eastern Syria were considered important markets for products made in other Syrian provinces, mainly Damascus and Aleppo.

In the discussions on the future of agriculture and livestock, the focus is very much on strategic crops such as wheat, and the setting of clear short-, medium-, and long-term targets at low costs. In order to achieve this, a strategic framework governing agricultural policy needs to be developed that supports agricultural solutions and sustainable agricultural systems, such as portfolio farming, the rehabilitation of infrastructure of production systems in agricultural sectors, both plant and animal, and the promotion of agricultural processes that adapt to climate change as well as the strengthening of agricultural research centers.

The rule of law in northeastern Syria.
Rule of law is not only associated with human rights but also with "democracy," the main motto of the Autonomous Administration in north-eastern Syria. Democracy is based on the involvement of citizens in the decision making process in society; human rights are aimed at protecting individuals from arbitrary and excessive interference with their freedoms and rights and ensuring human dignity; the rule of law is focused on restricting and independently reviewing the exercise of public powers, and the rule of law promotes democracy by establishing a mechanism of accountability for those in public power.
